Our Vision and Values
One of 100 strives to break generational cycles of lack of opportunity guided by an "it takes a village" approach that encourages community and individual growth, raising good neighbors and citizens. Our vision includes 100 mentors in the community supporting the growth of one individual or small businesses.
Get to Know Us
One of 100 is a non-profit organization with 501 (c)(3) status that provides mentorship, leadership development, and financial literacy to youth and young adults.
Our programs and initiatives are centered on:
Workforce development: helping youth and young adults find real jobs and career pathways, including union opportunities
Financial literacy: teaching the money fundamentals many first generation families never had access to
Credit building: demystifying credit so it becomes a tool, not an obstacle
Homeownership readiness: preparing young adults for one of the most important steps toward generational stability
Work ethic and professionalism: instilling the habits that turn a job into a career
Alternatives to college: connecting young people with trade programs, unions, and skilled work opportunities that build toward long term careers
Small business support: connecting local small business owners with each other so they can build community, share knowledge, and grow their businesses together
Community building: planning community events that bring all generations together in shared spaces
What is Unique to One of 100?
We leverage the network of professionals in the community, with expertise in a variety of fields, to unite and support youth and young adults in their pursuit of opportunities and success. Through financial literacy and credit building, homeownership readiness, workforce development, alternatives to college, small business support, and community events that bring generations together, we support that pursuit in practical, hands-on ways. We bring real world knowledge directly to the people who need it most.
History
One of 100 Inc. was founded long before it was officially launched as a nonprofit organization in January 2023. The organization was created to formalize over 20 years of community based mentorship, advocacy, and support for youth and young adults, extending that work to reach more young people through structured programs and initiatives.
One of 100 Inc. was built on real world, lived experience within the community, with a clear understanding of the practical knowledge that doesn't always get passed down: how to build credit, how to navigate the path to homeownership, how to develop a strong work ethic in a meaningful job, and for the young people who may not necessarily want to attend college, One of 100 assists them in finding a solid path forward. At the heart of this work is a simple goal, to help raise youth who grow into good neighbors, invested in and connected to the community around them.
Since launching, One of 100 Inc. has grown to serve 100+ active youth, providing every single one of them a path to employment or age appropriate volunteer opportunities. Whether a young person is ready for their first job or still building the foundational skills to get there, we meet them where they are and give them a next step forward.
Today, One of 100 Inc. continues to build on this foundation, with the infrastructure and community support to reach far more young people than ever before, and to help shape a generation of good neighbors.
